The present study is aimed at a comparative study of dependency e-resources by Iranian and Indian social science faculty members. A total of 487 respondents (232 from Iran and 255 from India) were randomly selected from both the countries. A questionnaire measuring dependency on various e-resources: e-books, e-journals, e-tutorials, online databases, CD-databases and e-reports was prepared by the investigator and administered to the sample selected. Statistical methods like descriptive statistics and contingency coefficient analysis were employed to verify the hypotheses. Results revealed that Iranian faculty members were more dependent on all the e-resources selected for the study. Keywords

The present study is based on the citations cited in Doctoral dissertations of Engineering and Technology awarded by various general universities of Karnataka. This paper comprising 541 journals containing 7467 citations appeared in 137 Doctoral dissertations awarded during 1961-2008. It was observed that more than 67 percent of the theses were awarded by the Bangalore Unicweairy and University of Mysore. It also noted that majority of (85, 62.04%) doctoral dissertations were awarded in between 1996-2008 and more number of Ph.D degree awarded in Civil discipline. Further the characteristics of references cited by the engineers and technologists in their Ph.D theses were studied. The results and discussions with regard to bibliographic form, languages, country, subject, authorship pattern and ranking of journals are presented in different tables and figure with some well known statistical and Bibliometric parameters have been applied for the study. Keywords

Pharmacy profession is as old as the existence of medicine as well as the existence of mankind and along with other technical professions it plays a very vital role in a nation's development. In the current era of cyber technology, where the computer application is much appreciated, the pharmacy education and research has also been enriched by application of information technology all around. Recent developments in computer, communication and networking technology have given new meaning to information retrieval systems. Today information sharing is achieved through networks. The network of networks on the global scale is known as the Internet. the information super highway, and it is growing at the rate of ten percent monthly, connecting more than 1.300,000 domains having about 40 million users. A thorough update knowledge on every aspect of information technology is a must to enrich our knowledge with the happenings around the world. By this communication we have tried to extract the web address of different pharmaceutical education and research institutions including web address related to some diseases which will definitely help to get more information based on the cyber knowledge. Besides this the web page details of some important pharmaceutical journals which have valuable contribution in this field have also been included. Thuss these finding will be of immense help to all the professiona1s engaged in education and research in pharmacy. Keywords
